Ahmedabad, November 13, 2025: The NCC Unit of CC Sheth College of Commerce, which is part of Navgujarat Group of Colleges in Ahmedabad, under 1 GUJ BN NCC, marked the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ with a beautiful ceremony organised at the college campus on Wednesday. Some 85 cadets and 12 faculty members gathered for a special assembly that honoured the song’s enduring place in India’s cultural and national identity.

The event opened with a floral welcome and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp byDr. D. S. Mistry, Principal, CC Sheth College of Commerce, and dignitaries. Associate NCC officer Lieutenant Dr Jagatrao Dhangar, who remained present at the ceremony, spoke about the significance of the occasion and recalled how ‘Vande Mataram’, became a poetic force during the freedom movement and continues to embody courage and unity.

Cadets delivered spirited performances, including solo patriotic renditions, a group song by girl cadets, and speeches reflecting on the song’s history and symbolism. The Principal commended the NCC unit for putting together the event and urged students to carry forward the values of unity and integrity.

At the end of the ceremony, members present collectively sang a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, filling the assembly area with a pious energy before participants gathered for a commemorative photograph.
