Rati Ram Meena, an Assistant Commissioner in the Central Goods and Services Tax (Department) (CGST), based in Jaipur, is under investigation by the CBI for possessing assets disproportionate to his known income. The CBI registered the case on 28 October 2025. The period under scrutiny: August 2018 to August 2025, during which Meena served in CGST offices in Jaipur and Ahmedabad. From assets of about ₹51.73 lakh (in August 2018) his wealth rose to over ₹4.08 crore by August 2025.
The CBI’s search operations covered locations in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Ankleshwar (Gujarat) where properties, gold/silver jewellery (~₹35 lakh) and luxury vehicles (e.g., a Porsche, a Jeep Compass) were recovered. It’s alleged that Meena routed funds via firms/LLPs owned by family members to conceal the illicit assets.
