Aligarh is an upcoming Bollywood film directed by Hansal Mehta. Aligarh movie based on the real life incident of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation.
Manoj Bajpai plays the role of Prof. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras and Rajkummar Rao plays a journalist. The movie was shot in various parts of Uttar Pradesh including Aligarh, Agra, Bareily & Greater Noida. Aligarh had its world premiere at the 20th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea on 4 October 2015. The film is slated to be released on 26 February 2016.
