City Union Bank powers the future of digital payments at Global Fintech Fest 2025

City Union Bank (CUB), one of India’s oldest and most trusted private sector banks, made a resounding impact at the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2025, held in Mumbai from October 7–9, by unveiling a series of 11 cutting-edge digital payment products and services. Each innovation underscores the bank’s commitment to leveraging technology for customer convenience, security, and financial inclusion in the digital era.

In collaboration with NPCI and other fintech partners, CUB’s new solutions range from IoT-based UPI payments and AI-powered customer support to biometric and facial authentication, redefining the way customers interact with financial systems.

Among the notable launches unveiled by the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India were:

•        ‘UPI Circle – My Devices’, enabling secure UPI payments via IoT devices such as smart TVs.

•        ‘UPI Reserve Pay’, powered by Single Block Multiple Debit (SBMD), for flexible, controlled recurring payments.

•        ‘UPI Help’, an AI-driven Small Language Model (SLM) Chatbot offering 24/7 assistance for UPI-related queries.

•        Multisignatory Workflows on UPI, introducing layered authorisations for corporate and joint account payments.

•        UPI-enabled Cash Withdrawals at BC touchpoints, strengthening rural financial inclusion.

•        BioAuth and FaceAuth, new biometric and facial recognition-based authentication methods for UPI.

•        CUB Depend (Credit Line on UPI), CUB Desire (Digital Savings Plan), and CUB RuPay MSME Card, India’s first AI-enabled MSME credit card, tailored for small business empowerment.

Speaking on the occasion, a CUB spokesperson said, “Our mission is to make digital banking intuitive, inclusive, and intelligent. The innovations launched at GFF 2025 reflect City Union Bank’s vision to stay ahead of the curve and deliver next-gen financial experiences to every Indian — from metro customers to rural entrepreneurs.”
