In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran said that Indian citizens, including students, pilgrims, professionals and tourists, are advised to exit Iran using any available means of transport, including commercial flights, until the situation stabilises.

The advisory comes against the backdrop of growing unrest, protests and heightened regional tensions, raising concerns over the safety of foreign nationals.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also advised Indians to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran until further notice. Those currently in the country have been asked to remain vigilant and closely follow official updates.

The Embassy further urged Indian nationals to:

Keep passports, visas and travel documents readily accessible

Avoid areas witnessing protests or large public gatherings

Maintain regular contact with the Indian Embassy

Register with the Embassy if not already enrolled

Emergency contact numbers and helpline details have been activated to assist Indian citizens facing difficulties. The Embassy said it is closely monitoring the evolving situation and coordinating with local authorities to ensure the safety of Indians.
