Ahmedabad: The foundation stone of the Pharmaceutical Academy for Global Excellence (PAGE) was laid at Sanand near Ahmedabad by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amitbhai Shah. The ceremony was held in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, senior leaders from the pharmaceutical sector, and other distinguished dignitaries.

The establishment of PAGE aims to strengthen India’s pharmaceutical ecosystem by fostering global standards in research, innovation, skill development, and industry–academia collaboration. The academy is envisioned as a centre of excellence that will support the growth of the pharma sector and enhance India’s position as a global pharmaceutical hub.

On the occasion, dignitaries also marked the completion of 25 years of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA). As part of the celebrations, the coffee table book titled “The Alchemy of Cure”, chronicling the journey and contributions of the Indian pharmaceutical industry, was released. Additionally, the India Pharma Archives were inaugurated, showcasing the evolution, milestones, and achievements of the sector.

The event highlighted the collective commitment of the government and industry leaders towards innovation, self-reliance, and excellence in the pharmaceutical domain, reinforcing Gujarat’s role as a key centre for pharma growth in India.
