In a major relief to consumers, the government led by Narendra Modi has announced a significant reduction in excise duty on fuel.
The excise duty on petrol has been reduced by ₹10, bringing it down from ₹13 to ₹3 per litre. Similarly, the excise duty on diesel has been cut by ₹10, reducing it from ₹10 to zero.
This move is expected to lower fuel prices across the country, easing the burden on households and businesses amid rising inflation. Experts believe the reduction will also have a positive impact on transportation costs and overall economic activity.
The decision reflects the government’s effort to provide direct financial relief to citizens and support economic growth.
