A Momentous Occasion for the Class of 2025 GLS University, Ahmedabad, India
20th December 2025, The 9th Convocation Ceremony of GLS University was a grand celebration of academic excellence and a moment of pride for over 5003 students who were conferred degrees at UG, PG, and Doctorate levels. Held at the GLS Campus, Opp. Law Garden, Ellisbridge,b Ahmedabad, the ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Shri Surya Kumar Yadav, Celebrated Indian Cricketer, Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, Shri Pankaj Patel, President of Gujarat Law Society, and Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University.
The event also saw the conferral of Honorary Doctorates to two prominent individuals for their extraordinary contributions to society: Shri Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge of the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Shri Siddharth Randeria, Renowned Gujarati Actor, Director, and Writer. In his address, Shri Surya Kumar Yadav, the Chief Guest, inspired the graduates with his reflections on discipline, hard work, and the pursuit of excellence. He shared, “Success is not just about talent, but about resilience and commitment. You are now stepping into a world that requires leadership, both on and off the field. Let your dedication guide you as you move forward in your professional journeys.”
Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, delivered a thought-provoking speech, urging the graduates to embrace adaptability in an ever-changing world. He said, “The real world will test you in ways you have not yet imagined, but the ability to learn continuously and face challenges with confidence will be your greatest strength.” He reminded the graduates of the importance of lifelong learning, adding, “Stay curious, or stay behind. There’s no middle ground.”
Shri Pankaj Patel, President of Gujarat Law Society, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, stating, “You walk out of this institution not just with knowledge, but with responsibility on your shoulders. Your first job is not your career, and your first mistake is not your legacy. It’s about creating something that changes the world. Think like a scientist, act like an entrepreneur, and remember, failure is part of the journey to success.”
Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, expressed immense pride in the students, sharing her wisdom: “This is your moment, but it’s just the beginning. As you step beyond this campus, remember: Timing isn’t always in your control, but readiness is. And rejection? It’s not failure. It’s life redirecting you to where you truly belong. You’ve been equipped not just with knowledge, but with the purpose to make a difference. Today, you are not just leaving with a degree; you are leaving with a direction for your life. The world ahead is vast, full of challenges, but you are ready. Keep reaching for the stars, and always stay grounded in your values.”
GLS University conferred Honorary Doctorates upon Shri Vijay Chauthaiwale and Shri Siddharth Randeria in recognition of their exceptional contributions to nation-building, diplomacy, and the arts. Shri Vijay Chauthaiwale was honored for his distinguished leadership in foreign affairs, while Shri Siddharth Randeria was acknowledged for his significant impact on Gujarati theater and cinema. The ceremony was a moment of great pride as 40 meritorious students were awarded Gold and Silver Medals for their exceptional academic performance. 37 doctoral students were conferred their Ph.D. degrees, completing a remarkable academic journey of rigorous research and dedication.
In addition, 40 students were honored with the ‘Best Student’ Awards across various disciplines, including Law, Computer Applications, IT, Commerce, Management, and Design. The event was filled with heartfelt moments as the graduates, their families, and faculty members celebrated the end of an era and the beginning of new opportunities. The ceremony was not just a celebration of academic achievements, but a tribute to resilience, dreams, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. The graduates were reminded that while their academic journey may be complete, their personal and professional paths are only just beginning.
