Gujarat Assembly Speaker puts limit of 3 unstarred questions per week during Session
Rajendra Trivedi Gujarat Assembly Speaker has restricted MLAs from submitting more than 3 ‘unstarred’ questions per week between two Assembly sessions.
Today Opposition Congress raised strong objection to the issue, calling it an attempt to restrict legislators’ rights.

As per the order, conveyed to all 182 MLAs by the Assembly Secretariat on March 28, on last day of Budget Session 1 member can submit only 3 unstarred questions per week during a gap between two Assembly sessions.
Further, MLAs can not raise unstarred questions anywhere in the middle of session.
The order only mentions about unstarred questions only. As per the Assembly rules, starred questions can come up for discussion during Question Hour, while unstarred questions and government’s replies to them are made available in writing, in the form of booklets.
