Today 14th January being auspicious and pious day as per Hindu mythology and with start of northward winds, Indians offer charity to poor and they offer prayers in temple. Also, it being a kite flying day Indians celebrate Uttarayan with family, relatives and friends. They enjoy feast of Undhiyu and Jalebi.
As bird and animal lovers offer their voluntary services by spending their time in saving life of birds and animals hit by sharp thread of kite during Uttarayan.
In Ahmedabad, there is a group of Namo Namah Parivar a city based NGO who is involved in humble activity of Saving Birds for past many years. There are many volunteers having network to cater to attend call of saving bird by immediately offering rescue services with a major operation or a minor surgery.
Namo Namah Parivar held 30 camps in Ahmedabad alone in different areas. Also similar bird saving camps are held at 62 places in Gujarat. The Parivar has a backbone of 1000 plus volunteers eager to serve birds in trouble on Uttarayan.
Today as a token of appreciation, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani visited Namo Namah Parivar at Dharnidhar Derasar and witnessed the activities of Parivar.
Speaking on the occasion CM Rupani said Jain religion teaches us to have compassion and empathy towards everyone. Activities of Namo Namah Parivar are really appreciable in saving birds.
Ahmedabad Mayor Gautam Shah also visited the Parivar.
