Gujarat Tableau to Showcase ‘Vande Mataram’ Theme at Republic Day 2026 Parade

New Delhi: Gujarat’s tableau will grace Kartavya Path during the 77th Republic Day celebrations in 2026, presenting a powerful visual narrative themed “Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram.” The tableau is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’, symbolising India’s freedom, unity, and national pride.

The tableau vividly portrays the evolution of the Indian National Flag, tracing its historic journey from 1906 onwards. A key highlight is the depiction of the moment when Madam Bhikaji Cama unfurled India’s first national flag on foreign soil, an act that became a landmark in India’s freedom movement and inspired generations of patriots.

Another prominent feature of Gujarat’s tableau is the representation of Mahatma Gandhi’s charkha (spinning wheel), symbolising the country’s transformative journey from the Swadeshi movement to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. This segment reflects the values of self-reliance, resilience, and indigenous strength that continue to guide the nation.

The tableau will be presented in the presence of senior leaders from the European Union, adding international significance to the cultural and historical showcase. Enhancing its artistic appeal, Gujarati folk artists will perform to the rhythm of Zaverchand Meghani’s renowned valor song ‘Kasumbi No Rang,’ infusing the presentation with the spirit of bravery and national consciousness.

Through a seamless blend of history, culture, and patriotism, Gujarat’s Republic Day tableau aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of Vande Mataram and reaffirm India’s journey of freedom, self-reliance, and unity on one of the nation’s most significant occasions.
