Vadodara: Gujarat registered a convincing 73-run win against Baroda in their BCCI Col C K Nayudu Trophy 2025–26 encounter, played at the GSFC Cricket Ground, Vadodara, on Tuesday. The match witnessed strong individual performances across all four innings, with Gujarat emerging dominant through disciplined batting and incisive bowling.
After winning the toss, Gujarat elected to bat and posted an imposing 389 runs in their first innings, being bowled out in 110.4 overs.
The backbone of Gujarat’s innings was Rudra M Patel, who played a marathon knock of 124 runs off 246 balls, striking 24 fours and a six. He was well supported by Ahaan Podar, who narrowly missed out on a century, scoring 94 runs from 125 balls with 12 fours and three sixes.
For Baroda, Raj Limbani led the bowling attack with an impressive spell, picking up 4 wickets for 98 runs in 25 overs.
In reply, Baroda scored 340 runs in their first innings, falling short by 49 runs. The highlight of the innings was a magnificent knock from Jadav Rajvirsinh, who scored a brilliant 160 runs off 278 balls, decorated with 19 fours and three sixes, anchoring Baroda’s resistance.
Gujarat’s bowling effort was spearheaded by Aksh Dave, who claimed 3 wickets for 46 runs in 13 overs, providing crucial breakthroughs.
Gujarat continued their dominance in the second innings, scoring 212 runs before being bowled out in 47.3 overs. Once again, Ahaan Podar rose to the occasion, this time converting his start into a superb century, scoring 105 runs off 104 balls with 12 fours and three sixes.
Baroda’s bowling saw Karam Uttam deliver a notable performance, taking 4 wickets for 69 runs in 13 overs.
Chasing a target of 262 runs, Baroda were bowled out for 188 runs in 51.4 overs. Despite a valiant effort by Priyanshu Moliya, who scored an impressive 113 runs off 152 balls with 14 fours and two sixes, Baroda could not sustain momentum.
Gujarat’s bowling attack was led brilliantly by Prince Bhalala, who claimed a five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5 for 76 in 16.4 overs, sealing the match in Gujarat’s favour.
