Mahavir Jayanti celebrated by Jains all over India and abroad

Today Mahavir Jayanti  is celebrated by Jains all over India and abroad.

It commemorates Bhagwan Mahavir’s message of peace, non-violence and harmony as a source of great inspiration for everyone.

Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, is an important religious festival of Jains. It celebrates the birth of Mahavir , the twenty-fourth and last Tirthankara of Avasarpini.





The idol of Bhagwan Mahavir is carried out on a chariot and a procession called Rath Yatra is taken out by devotees. They carry out charitable activities.

Jains carry out important social and financial activities on this day being auspicious day.
