Ahmedabad, 16 January, 2026: The Navgujarat Group of Colleges marked Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day on Monday, January 12, with academic and cultural programmes across its institutions. Students, faculty members and coordinators of Daulatbhai Trivedi Law College, Smt SR Mehta Arts College, CC Sheth College of Commerce, Prin MC Shah Commerce College and the Central Library of the group participated in the celebrations, aimed at spreading awareness about the ideals of Swami Vivekananda among the youth.

At DT Law College, a grand commemorative event was organised under the coordination of Dr Chetnaben Shah,Librarian, Navgujarat Central Library. Faulty members Dr Rinku Darjiand Dr Lataben Menat, paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda and spoke on his message of courage, character-building and nationalism, stressing its importance for students in law and academia. A special display of books and writings on Vivekananda was curated to promote reading and reflection among students.

At Smt SR Mehta Arts College, a special lecture was delivered by Principal Dr Darsha Jani on Swami Vivekananda’s life and his contributions to society. Around 35 students and faculty members participated in the programme, with students later sharing their views and interpretations of his teachings.

Meanwhile, the NSS wing of CC Sheth College of Commerce organised a National Youth Day programme focusing on Vivekananda’s vision of self-confidence, moral values and national service. A special talk delivered by faculties, Dr. Jayandrasinh Thakor and Dr. Mohammad Salman Yusuf. Similarly, Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College celebrated National Youth Day with the aim of promoting discipline, moral values, self-development and holistic health among students. The programme featured a student-led discussion on the importance of discipline in student life, followed by an address by Principal Dr. N. D. Shah, who highlighted the role of disciplined and value-based living in nation-building. A special workshop on holistic health was later conducted by experts from the Brahma Kumaris Institute, Mahadev Nagar, focusing on positive thinking, meditation and balanced living, along with a practical meditation session. The event witnessed active participation from faculty, staff and students, making the celebration meaningful and impactful.
