“PENSION + SALARY” to Four VCs of Agricultural Universities; Gujarat Government Unable to Recover Illegally Drawn Money blame Congress

Ahmedabad : Manhar Patel spokesman of Gujarat Congress asked that State Government-Run Agricultural Universities have Shameless Vice Chancellors who are Not Even Afraid of the government

  • Certain Adamant Agricultural University Vice Chancellors have Drawn Pension Plus Salary Violating Rules, and They are Neither Returning the Excess Money Nor Stopping the Illegal Practice
  • Is State Government being Generous to the Agriculture VCs or is it Helpless

On 1 July 2025, State Government Sent an Email to the Finance Officers of All 4 Agriculture Universities, Instructing them to Recover the Excess Money that had been Obtained by Violating Rules and to Report within 7 days. However, These Shameless Vice Chancellors have Not Yet Deposited the Excess Amount They Took in the Form of Salary. Therefore, on 12 August 2025, the Government Issued a 2nd Letter Demanding Recovery.

According to Spokesman Patel, the Vice Chancellors of All 4 Agricultural Universities in the State are Acting even more Stubbornly than Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel himself, and are Refusing to Return Illegally Drawn Money Despite State Government Showing Them rules. He Added that Drawing Pension Plus Salary by Violating Rules, Amounts to Misappropriation of Crores of Rupees and is a Punishable Offence. Their Resignations should be Taken and they should be Sent to Jail. Despite Repeatedly Demanding Recovery of the Illegally Drawn Pension Plus Salary, the State Government has so far Failed to Recover the Money.
Even Today, These Vice Chancellors Continue to Draw Both Pension Plus Salary, while the Agriculture Department and the State Government Appear to be Helpless, Believes that Sending Letters is Enough to Discharge their Duty.

Is the State Government being Kind to the Agriculture University Vice Chancellors – or is it Helpless?
