In a major action against illegal liquor consumption, police conducted a raid on a high-profile party in the Sanand area near Ahmedabad late on the weekend. The raid took place at Safal Nirvana Greens, a weekend home located within the limits of Goraj village under Sanand Police Station.

Police detained 81 people, including 43 men and 38 women, who were allegedly attending an illegal liquor party. All the detained individuals have been taken for medical examination, which is currently underway.

According to police sources, the party was organised by Amit Gopilal Pacheriwal (49), a resident of Jayant Mahal, D-Road, Marine Drive, opposite Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The event was reportedly arranged to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of his brother-in-law Adarsh Agrawal.

The party was hosted at Plot No. 200, Safal Nirvana Greens, owned by Ravi Gorakhpuriya, where male and female friends were invited. Police allege that foreign liquor was brought from outside the state and served without valid permits or passes, in violation of prohibition laws.
During the raid, police seized liquor, vehicles, and other materials worth ₹2,91,84,250, including:
- 8 sealed bottles of foreign liquor
- 7 half-filled liquor bottles
- 3 empty liquor bottles
- 10 hookahs
- 70 drinking glasses
- 8 hookah flavour packets
- 33 containers of hookah flavours
- 74 mobile phones
- 22 four-wheeler vehicles
Sanand Police have registered a case under various sections of the Gujarat Prohibition Act, including Sections 65(a)(a), 116(b), 66(1)(b), 75(a), 85(1)(3), 81, 84, and 86. Further investigation is ongoing, and police have begun formal seizure proceedings at the site. Authorities have reiterated that strict action will continue against violations of prohibition laws, regardless of the social status of those involved
