Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: President Droupadi Murmu along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh witnessed the Vayu Shakti–2026 exercise at the Pokhran Firing Range today, highlighting the courage, dedication, and professional excellence of the Indian Air Force.
In a first-of-its-kind demonstration, President Murmu undertook a sortie in the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand at Air Force Station Jaisalmer. She described the LCH Prachand as “a powerful symbol of Atmanirbhar Bharat” and expressed her pride in the country’s air warriors. Flying over the historic Jaisalmer Fort, the President said, “I am extremely proud of our brave air warriors. The Prachand helicopter is a strong symbol of India’s self-reliance.”

The Vayu Shakti–2026 exercise showcased a coordinated display of cutting-edge technology, operational integration, and rapid response capabilities, reflecting the IAF’s preparedness for combat operations under both day and night conditions. From frontline fighter aircraft to advanced air defence systems and indigenous platforms, the drills demonstrated precision, speed, and operational dominance, affirming India’s growing multi-domain military strength.

Vayu Shakti–2026 emphasized the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, with indigenous platforms and systems playing a central role. Guided by the ethos of “Achook, Abhedya aur Sateek”, the Air Warriors of India continue to maintain vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s skies and sovereignty.




Officials described the exercise as a testament to the IAF’s operational readiness and the commitment of its personnel to defend the country with skill and valor.
