The Road Safety Campaign has entered its fourth year in 2026, continuing its mission to create awareness and educate citizens about the importance of road safety.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who has been spearheading the national road safety movement, emphasized that strict adherence to traffic rules, use of safety measures, and responsible driving are essential to reduce road accidents and fatalities.
Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan, the face of several national road safety awareness initiatives, has also played a key role in spreading the message of safe driving among citizens across the country. His campaigns have focused on wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding mobile phone use while driving, and following traffic regulations.
As part of the fourth-year campaign, various awareness drives, educational programs, and public outreach activities will be organized to sensitize drivers, pedestrians, and commuters. Authorities reiterated that road safety is a shared responsibility, and awareness combined with education is the most effective way to save lives on Indian roads.
