Ahmedabad: Sabarmati University, Gujarat’s first state private dual mode university, held its second convocation ceremony on Friday at its campus, where 467 students were conferred degrees and 25 students were awarded gold medals in recognition of their academic achievements.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Gaurav Dahiya, Additional Development Commissioner, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. TS Bisht, former Gujarat DGP and Eminent Resource Faculty at Rashtriya Raksha University, as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Rutvij Patel, Member of Gujarat BJP’s Executive Committee, and Pravin Kotak, Chairman of Iscon Group, attended as Special Guests. The convocation commenced with a welcome address by the Provost, Prof. (Dr.) BS Patel, followed by the presentation of the University’s Annual Report by Vice President Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Chaturvedi, who highlighted the institution’s academic achievements, research initiatives and student engagement activities over the past year.
The Chief Guest and other dignitaries awarded the degrees and medals, marking a proud moment for graduating students and their families. Of the total, 247 students were awarded undergraduate degrees, 167 students received postgraduate degrees, and 28 students were awarded PhDs. In his convocation address, Chief Guest Dr. Gaurav Dahiya emphasised the importance of responsibility and continuous growth in both professional and personal spheres, while Guest of Honour Dr. TS Bisht encouraged students to uphold integrity and discipline in their professional journeys. Sunny Patel, President of Sabarmati University, congratulated the graduating students and emphasised the importance of lifelong learning in today’s rapidly evolving world.
“Your degree is not the end of your learning journey, but the beginning of a new chapter. In today’s fast-changing and competitive world, it is essential to continuously upgrade your skills, stay curious and remain adaptable. The willingness to learn and evolve will define your success far more than any single qualification,” he said. Sabarmati University reaffirmed its committed to the holistic development of students through academic excellence, research exposure and active participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
