As on today, Gujarat is experiencing a slow increase in COVID-19 cases, with as total 197 active cases are reported statewide. Ahmedabad accounts for the majority, with 133 active cases, followed by Rajkot, which recently reported 5 new cases yesterday. New variants of COVID-19, including LF.7 and JN.1, have been found in Gujarat. The LF.7 variant, a sub-lineage of the Omicron family, has been identified in 4 cases . Health team emphasize that these variants are currently causing mild symptoms, and most patients are recovering at home without having to be hospitalized. In Ahmedabad, a day-old infant tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. Both the infant and the mother are in stable condition and under medical observation. In Gujarat, health teams have increased testing and contact tracing efforts to contain further spread. Citizens are advised to be vigilant, adhere to safety protocols, and seek medical attention if symptoms develop.
