Ahmedabad, December 24, 2025: Smt SR Mehta Arts College, which is part of Navgujarat Group of Colleges, recently organised a Thalassemia Screening Camp at its Ashram Road campus in Ahmedabad. Some 70 students participated in the screening, organised under the NSS wing of the institution.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Airport, and Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Sarvam. The idea behind the event was to promote awareness about and encourage early detection of Thalassemia among young adults.
The screening camp was held under the guidance of Principal, Dr Darsha Jani, and the guidance of NSS Coordinators Dr Nayana Chudasama and Dr Tejani Munshi.
Students actively participated in the camp. They learnt about Thalassemia and its long-term implications and the importance of preventive healthcare.
