Ahmedabad, 31st March, 2026: C. C. Sheth College of Commerce, part of the Navgujarat Group of Colleges in Ahmedabad, along with the Navgujarat Central Library, recently organised a special reading session on the biography of leading Indian diamantaire, Shri Arun Kumar Mehta. The book titled, Heero – One personality, two meanings is authored by noted author Chirantana Bhatt. The reading session was put together by Dr Rishi Thakar, Assistant Professor with the institute, with a view to inspire students about Mehta’s life story, values and achievements.

Some 25 students actively participated in the reading session.
Dr Dharmendra Mistry, Principal, C. C. Sheth College of Commerce opened the session by talking about Mehta’s journey from his early days in Patan to becoming a global businessman.

Dr Rishi Thakar followed by addressing the participants with a thought-provoking talk on Mehta’s professional legacy, highlighting his personal philosophy, humility, simplicity and strong human values, presenting him as a role model for aspiring professionals.

B.Com. semester-2 student, Sonu Kumari, reflects on Mehta’s composure during crises and the importance of learning from failures. An M.Com. Semester-2 student, Saskhi Prajapati, talked about his leadership, the global expansion of his business and how he paved the way for institutionalising trade practices. Another M.Com. Semester-2 student, Radhika Pasi, spoke about his integrity and how he was deeply influenced by the Jain values.
An alumnus of C. C. Sheth College of Commerce, Dharmik Solanki, also remained present as an invited guest and offered a perspective about his ethical trading practices.
The session concluded with a meaningful exchange of ideas. Participants were inspired by Shri Arunkumar Mehta’s life and contributions.
