Gandhinagar, Nov 14, 2025: Swarrnim Science College, which is affiliated with Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, recently organised a guest lecture on Financial Literacy for undergraduate students from Semester I, III and V. The session was conducted at the Swarrnim University campus near Adalaj in Gandhinagar and saw active participation from 73 students. Facilitated by Mr Anil Purohit, Counsellor, Financial Literacy & Credit Counselling Centre, State Bank of India (Gandhinagar), the session focused on strengthening students’ understanding of essential banking practices and safe digital financial behaviour.
The event was coordinated by Dr Shefal Vaghela, Assistant Professor and Faculty Coordinator, Swarrnim Science College. The idea behind organising the event was to provide students with basic knowledge of banking operations, promote responsible money management, and build awareness around secure digital transactions among them. Using real life case-studies, the speaker highlighted common risks associated with digital payments.
Purohit explained various types of bank accounts, digital payment systems and online banking services, along with practical guidance on identifying and preventing online frauds. Students participated in an interactive question-and-answer segment, where they discussed concerns related to digital payments, cyber safety and everyday financial planning.
Speaking about the session, Shri Adi Rishabh Jain, vice president, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, said, “Mr Purohit provided clear, practical insights on secure digital banking. The session was well-received by students and played an important role in enhancing their financial awareness in an increasingly digital world.”
The lecture boosted students’ confidence in handling online financial transactions and reinforced the importance of financial discipline and digital security.
