Surat, Gujarat: A shocking incident of alleged mass suicide has come to light from the Vesu area of Surat, where a family of four consumed a poisonous substance inside their residence at Happy Elegance building.
According to preliminary police reports, a husband and wife, along with their two young daughters aged approximately 5 to 7 years, allegedly consumed poison. Three members of the family — identified as members of the Balamukund Rungta family — lost their lives, while one daughter survived and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Police officials from Vesu Police Station confirmed that a suicide note was recovered from the residence. In the note, Vaibhav Rungta reportedly mentioned harassment and mental as well as physical torture related to financial matters. Based on the contents of the note, authorities have initiated a detailed investigation.
The tragic loss of young lives has sent shockwaves across the locality. Officials stated that further forensic examination and questioning of concerned individuals are underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
Police have assured that strict action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
