Gujarat Reviews Preparations for School Enrollment Drive 2026; Launches Key Education Reforms

Gandhinagar, Gujarat: Ahead of the statewide Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav 2026, scheduled from June 23 to June 25, a comprehensive review meeting was held in Gandhinagar to assess preparedness and ensure the smooth implementation of the annual education campaign.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, other ministers, and senior officials from the Education Department.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister unveiled two major education reform frameworks aimed at bringing qualitative improvements to Gujarat’s education system:

  • State Curriculum Framework (SCF) based on the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP).
  • School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF) to ensure school evaluation and quality standards align with global benchmarks.

In another significant step, the state launched the Nipun Gujarat Campaign, aimed at strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) among primary school students. The initiative seeks to improve basic reading, writing, and numerical skills at an early stage of education.

The event also witnessed the distribution of approval letters for newly sanctioned secondary schools across Gujarat, further expanding educational infrastructure and access to quality education throughout the state.

The upcoming Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav 2026 is expected to focus on increasing school enrollment, reducing dropout rates, and promoting education among girls, continuing Gujarat’s long-standing commitment to educational development.
