Gujarat CM launches Kadana water supply scheme to people of Dahod

Today, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel reiterated Gujarat Government’s commitment to take up Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign as a movement, ensuring every home in Gujarat has a toilet by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2019.

While inaugurating  Rs.127 crores Dahod bulk drinking water supply scheme, drawing water from Kadana Dam with help of 78 km long pipeline, she said that her government was concerned about providing drinking water to every city, town and village, as well as establishing law and order in the state like converting border outposts into police stations. Anandiben said that similar drinking water projects for Sanjeli and Zalod and nearby areas is being implemented at a cost of Rs.90 crores. She further said, it is  duty of the citizens to save wastage of water, becoming dearer by day.

She announced  Rs.5 lakhs assistance to women’s milk producers’ primary society,by providing 300 sq ft plot, scholarship to girl students appearing in the IAS main examination and interview and healthcare for Anganwadis children as part of aid to other projects.

Gujarat Chief Minister also inaugurated Dahod Municipal Pumping Station and Limkheda Police Station built at a cost of Rs.84 lakhs. Dahod District Police a booklet published by the department.

District Incharge and Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said that Gujarat Government has lend further movement to ‘Gatisheel Gujarat’ by achieving 110 per cent target of development works pending for the Election Code of Conduct.

Member of Parliament Jashwantsinh Bhabhor hoped Dahod will prosper under Anandiben Patel’s leadership. He said that efforts were on to bring Narmada waters to towns like Dahod. Water Supply Principal Secretary Rajiv Kumar Gupta said that Dahod Pumping Project is the department’s highest project ever till now. He said that 350 water supply projects, including 154 in Dahod and Panchmahals, were provided electricity connections during  last four months.

Prominent among those present of the occasion included Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Bachubhai Khabad, MLAs Rameshbhai Katara, Vinchhiyabhai Bhuria, Chandrikaben Baria, Vajubhai Panda, Mitesh Garasia, District Panchayat President Shankarbhai Amliyar, ex-MPs, ex-MLAs, municipal and panchayat office-bearers, Vadodara IGP Anupam Gehlot, District Collector M.A. Gandhi, DDO Satish Patel and DSP Mayanksinh Chavda.
