Ahmedabad has officially begun preparations for the grand 149th Rath Yatra, one of Gujarat’s most significant religious events. The auspicious start was marked by the traditional ceremonial worship of the chariots at the historic Jagannath Temple in the city.

The ritual, known as Rath Pujan, was performed with great devotion and adherence to age-old traditions. Priests and temple authorities conducted the ceremony, offering prayers for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the yatra. Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the sacred rituals, reflecting deep faith and enthusiasm ahead of the annual procession.

The Rath Yatra, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, is scheduled to take place with elaborate arrangements by the temple trust and local administration. The chariots, which are central to the procession, are being prepared with meticulous care, ensuring they are ready for the grand journey through the city.
Authorities have also initiated planning for security, traffic management, and public safety, given the massive turnout expected during the yatra. Various departments are coordinating to ensure a smooth and incident-free event.
The Ahmedabad Rath Yatra holds immense cultural and religious importance and attracts thousands of devotees every year. With the commencement of preparations, the city is set to witness another vibrant celebration of faith, tradition, and unity.
