160 banned turtles recovered from 2 women in Surat
Today in Surat, 2 women were held with 160 banned turtles from Udhana area.
A raid by Forest department was conducted, in which 60 Star and 100 Singapore turtles were recovered.
Athwa police is investigating the case for sale of banned turtles in Surat.
Turtle is endangered species, According to the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 following are the turtles (not tortoise) which are not permitted to keep as pet in India.
