Yesterday At least 18 people, including 11 women and 5 children, were killed and more than dozen people were wounded in a stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. The tragedy happened by a sudden rush of passengers trying to catch trains for the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. According to official some people coming down from a foot-over bridge towards platform numbers 14 and 15 using stairs slipped and fell on others. A high-level inquiry has been ordered into the tragic incident. President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has sent condolence message.
