200 boats lost telecommunication control and stuck in deep of Arabian Sea

In Arabian sea heavy current is experienced for the last 3 days. It is risky to venture in Arabian sea, 200 boats out of 700 boats were out of telecommunication range. 300 boats of Valsad were anchored at Kodinar port. 100 boats returned to Valsad. Fishermen were stuck in mid sea. Families of fishmermen were angry over weather agencies not being able to connect with fishermen in sea. If they would have received warning before hand would not have ventured into sea. Earlier also similar situation arised due to lack of communication by weather agency to fishermen.

Pethai cyclone is about to hit northern coast in country. The cyclone is likely to hit within 36 hours at south-eastern regions of country. Alert has been sounded in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu due to possible cyclone.

Cyclone is likely to occur due to low pressure in Bay of Bengal as per meteorology agency. It is marching ahead towards north and north-western region. Gaja cyclone in November claimed 45 lives and 1,17,000 houses were destroyed. Titli cyclone in Odisha claimed 57 lives during October.

As per weather sources, intensity of cyclone will reduce once it will hit Andhra coast. Fishermen are instructed to return to coast.
