Indian Swimmers Set to Shine in Japan Following National Coaching Camp

SAI and Swimming Federation of India Extend Victory Wishes to Swimmers

10 September 2026 Ahmedabad : A Send-Off Ceremony was hosted at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre for Sports Excellence(NCOE), Ahmedabad, for the Indian Swimming Contingent selected for the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Following the completion of rigorous training sessions at the National Coaching Camp held at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, the swimming team was accorded a warm send-off to Japan in the presence of swimmers, coaching staff, and distinguished dignitaries. On this occasion, the SAI support team performed a traditional ceremonial tilak for the players to bid them farewell and extended best wishes for a victorious performance.

During the ceremony, Head Coach Pradeep Kumar stated that all swimmers have worked tremendously hard physically and mentally throughout this training camp, and the team is fully prepared to deliver its best performance, reach the finals, and win medals for the country.

Expressing gratitude to the organizers for providing world-class facilities and constant encouragement, Team Captain Sajan Prakash expressed immense confidence in bringing pride to the nation at the Asian Games.

On this occasion, key dignitaries including Arjuna Awardee and IOA Member Dola Banerjee, Regional Director of SAI Gandhinagar Prashant Kumar Singh, Director of SAI NCOE Ahmedabad Aditi Singh, Swimming Federation of India Secretary General Monal Choksi, Swimming federation of India vice president Kamlesh Nanavati and Vice President of Gujarat State Swimming Association Chintan Patel delivered addresses to motivate the Indian swimmers.

The dignitaries inspired the swimmers to compete pressure-free and perform to their maximum potential, extending heartfelt best wishes for success and medal victories to the Indian team departing for Japan carrying the hopes and aspirations of the nation.

It is worth noting that the training camp for the Indian Swimming Team was held from August 2 to September 10 at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), located at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Ahmedabad.
