4000 Resident doctors strike in 6 medical colleges of Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Even after 48 hours of ultimatum, government is still not reacting to protest of Resident Doctors. At present, about 4,000 resident doctors of government hospitals in Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot are on strike. The government has changed 1:2 Bond policy of Covid duty vide notification dated 12/4/2021.

Resident doctors of 6 government medical colleges in state have gone on strike as the bond was changed 1: 1 without hearning to issues of resident doctors. Doctors have made this demand to Health Commissioner Jayaprakash Shivhare 4 days ago. Earlier, four issues have been presented to the government. Resident Doctros Association (JDA) called for immediate withdrawal of treatment service.

On reacting the issue Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel says, ‘If they donot want to work in rural areas then deposit Rs 40 lakh as per bond terms’.
