Today in Ahmedabad city, incident of friction between AMC team and localities has come to surface from Memco Naroda area.
AMC team had gone for demolition of 70 years old building in Vijay Mills Quarters. It is also known as Baliya lane. Building no 1 and 7 of the quarters are to be demolished. Building no 7 is being demolished now and Buidling no 1 will be demolished in the afternoon.
Residents of the building complain that they have not been provided with alternate housing facility, whereas authorities claim that they issued sufficient notice to localities including the one sent today morning.
Hiten Makwana and others have been detained.
Residents also said that since they are from Valmiki community , no one gives them houes on rent.
