Congress party in Gujarat Legislative Assembly backs demand of Health Workers in the state that has been going on for 9 days mentioned Amit Chavda. State government should fulfill the demand of Health Workers who served people of state by risking their own and family members life during Corona Pandemic . They were elated with name Corona Warrior, but government is not concerned about the issue of Health Workers protesting in Gandhinagar for 9 days added Amit Chavda.
The government, which is working on policy of the British, should withdraw the orders of suspension and termination said LOP Chavda Supporting the strike of Health Workers.
In Gujarat Legislative Assembly Congress LOP Amit Chavda said that without bothering about weather or timings let it be it a Multipurpose Health Worker, Female Health Worker, Multipurpose Supervisor, Female Health Supervisor or Taluka or District Supervisors, all workers of the Health Department and Panchayat Department who have worked hard and struggled to save people of in Corona Pandemic without worrying about their own or their family’s lives their issues should be addressed by the government. Since long time, these Health Workers have been continuously presenting their Financial and Administrative demands to government. The government has also negotiated many times, only gave assurances to Health Workers, even formed a committee for it and the government does not want to implement the recommendations made by that committee.
Chavda expressed his anger and said that Health Workers employees from all over Gujarat have been protesting in Gandhinagar for the last 9 days regarding their demands, but the government is insensitive about it.
On the issue of the presentation made in the Assembly House, Amit Chavda said that in the discussion on Health Workers in the Assembly today, party MLAs Kirit Patel and Vimal Chudasama said that the employees of the Health Department have reasonable demands, for which the government should immediately call them for talks and accept their demands and end the strike. Supporting the demands of the Health Workers Amit Chavda said that we, as the Legislative Congress party, support the demands of the thousands of Health Department and Panchayat Department workers who are concerned about the health of the people of Gujarat. We also request the government again to immediately call these people for discussion, to find an amicable solution to all their demands as recommended by the committee, and to provide relief to the people who are currently suffering from the health services that have been disrupted in all places in Gujarat, be it rural areas, taluka headquarters or district headquarters, and to end the agitation and withdraw all the orders and notices against the people who have taken action.

Healthcare workers in district PHCs (Primary Health Centres) and CHCs (Community Health Centres) have been protesting in Gujarat’s capital city Gandhinagar for the past 9 days.

They are on indefinite strike at Satyargraha Chhavni in state capital.
Demands of these Health workers give benefit of Pay Scale based on their Technical Skills, cancellation of Departmental Exams, and addressing concerns raised by the Gujarat Rajya Arogya Karmachari Mahasangh.
Demands are for Inclusion in Technical Cadre, and raising of current Grade Pay of Rs 1900 for Multipurpose Health Worker & Female Health Worker Cadre to Rs 2800 grade pay. Increase of current Grade Pay of Rs 2400 for Multipurpose Health Supervisor, Female Health Supervisor & District Level Supervisor to Rs4200 grade pay, and general for MPHW and FHW cadre.
Complete exemption from Departmental Exams of above mentioned Cadre and also for the Administrative and Financial issues of Staff Nurses (Panchayat). Health workers had previously staged a protest against the government in Gandhinagar in September 2022. At the time, due to the upcoming assembly elections, the government had held closed-door discussions with the employees to pacify them. However, after their key demands remained unresolved even after more than 2 years, they have now announced a march to Gandhinagar.

However state government has implemented ESMA Essential Services and Maintenance Act of striking Health Workers. Gujarat Health MInister Rushikesh Patel has told that Health service being essential in nature Health Workers cannot go on strike like this.
