Union Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted the reform introduced in the Waqf Amendment Bill to protect women’s property rights and also presented other additional recommendations proposed by the Joint Parliamentary Committee with respect to the Bill.
The role of Waqf Board is to supervise the management of Waqf properties by mutawallis and those handling Waqf affairs. It serves as a provision for governance and supervision. The Waqf Board does not interfere in the management of Waqf properties, said the Union Minister.
