On Monday Surendranagar District Congress Committee President Naushad Solanki has announced Dharna for justice of farmers in Surendranagar district against Anti-Farmer Policies of BJP government. He said that crops failed in almost all the talukas of Surendranagar District in previous Monsoon, due to which Farmers suffered huge Losses.
Unfortunately, BJP government of Gujarat has not Paid Compensation for Crop Failure to more than 50% of the farmers till today due to Discrimination. Surendranagar District Congress and Khedut Hit Rakshak Samiti has launched Fierce Agitations against this Unjust Policy of the government. As a result, the government was forced to announce a New Agricultural Relief Package. Even in the New Relief Package, government has cheated the Farmers. Due to which, thousands of Farmers of the district will be forced to Apply Again and most of the Farmers will not get Compensation for their Loss.
Regarding the Crop Loss/Damage due to Heavy Rains in last Monsoon Season, The government announced to Apply for Compensation for Losses caused by Rain from 25-10-2024 to 31-10-2024.
Accroding to which 25471 and 14861 Applications were made by Farmers from Dasada tand Lakhtar taluka of Surendranagar District. As per government’s Resolution compensation for losses of all crops was announced on 24-10-2025. But it is sad to say that more than 50% of the Farmers’ Applications were Rejected and BJP government has betrayed Farmers.
The new resolution said that only Farmers who Sow Cotton will Get Compensation, there is a provision for Compensation of Rs 22,000 in Unirrigated Fields and Rs 44,000 in Irrigated Fields, the farmers who Applied in October 2024 have been asked to Apply Again, Terms & Conditions have been changed to Provide a Photo of the Damage caused in October and to Provide Copy of Gram Sevak’s report.
In October 24, farmers from 20 Districts Suffered Losses due to Heavy Rains, however, according to the New Resolution, Compensation will be Paid to only Farmers from 6 Districts, so what about the losses of farmers from the remaining 14 districts? BJP government is once again making Farmers Stand in a Queue.The Government has Discriminated and Paid this Compensation to some Selected Villages and some Selected People doing partiality.
Congress and Khedut Hitrakshak Samiti will hold a Protest Demonstration on Monday, 14/07/2025 at 10.00 am at Surendranagar Collectorate against Government’s Unjust Policy of Paying Compensation to such Discriminatory and Selective People. With lot of aggression Coordinator of Khedut Hitrakshak Samiti, Vikram Rabari and farmer leaders Ashok Patel, Praveen Parmar appealed to join more and more Farmers against the BJP government’s policy of Injustice to the Farmers.
