Amit Chavda Congress MLA from Anklav in Anand district, previously GPCC chief from 2018–2021, and returned to the post on 17 July 2025 after Shaktisinh Gohil’s resignation. Also served as the Leader of Congress Legislature Party in the Gujarat Assembly from January 2023 to July 2025. Chavda assumed office as GPCC president again, amid efforts by the Congress to rejuvenate its state presence.
Before taking up formal party duties, he visited Ambaji Temple, seeking divine blessings and demonstrating respect for local religious sentiments.He hoisted a grand flag—highlighting both faith and a ceremonial commencement of his leadership. His supporters/fans chanted slogans Bol Madi Ambe, Jay Jay Ambe at Ambaji Guest House.
