Gujarat Tourism, TCGL Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited and Worldwide Media Pvt. Ltd. (a Times Group company) have inked an MoU Memorandum of Understanding to hosting 70th Filmfare Awards in Gujarat. The agreement was formalised at a ceremony in Gandhinagar in the presence of state Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The MoU was signed by Prabhav Joshi, Managing Director of TCGL and Tourism Commissioner, and Rohit Gopakumar from Worldwide Media. Gujarat has lured major film projects since the launch of its Cinematic Tourism Policy in 2022. Hosting the Filmfare Awards 2025 marks yet another milestone for the state’s growing presence in India’s entertainment industry.

On the occasion, CM Patel unveiled the Filmfare trophy, popularly known as the ‘Black Lady’. It will be the second consecutive year that Gujarat is hosting the Filmfare Awards. MoU signing was attended by Tourism Minister Mulu Bera, Minister Bhikhu Singh Parmar, Additional Chief Secretary MK Das, Tourism Secretary Rajendra Kumar, Times Group MD Vineet Jain, filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Vikrant Massey, and other dignitaries. Chief Minister Patel said that hosting the Filmfare Awards will boost the state economy, generate employment, and promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative through wider use of local products and services.
