Gandhinagar, November 18, 2025: The Women Development Cell (WDC) of Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organised a one-day training programme on women’s empowerment at the university’s Seminar Hall at the Bhoyan Rathod Campus, near Adalaj, Gandhinagar.

Some 120 students and 41 faculty members participated. The event featured three specialised sessions: ‘Swaraksha’, ‘Ancient Wisdom for Modern You’, and ‘Menstrual Health and Hygiene’ conducted by expert speakers namely Ms Aarti Parmar, Dr.Prajna G, and Dr Ankita Chavan, respectively.

In the first session on ‘Swaraksha’, Ms Parmar led a practical workshop on self-defence, equipping participants with essential techniques for personal safety. Post-lunch, Dr Pragna G delivered insights on integrating ancient Indian knowledge into modern lifestyles. The final session, conducted by Dr Ankita Chavan, focused on menstrual health, hygiene practices, and breaking social taboos through open discussion.

The sessions helped create awareness about self-defence among women and encouraged their holistic well-being and promoted informed conversations on menstrual health.
