Ahmedabad, December 02, 2025: CC Sheth College of Commerce, which is part of the Navgujarat Group of Colleges in Ahmedabad, marked Gita Jayanti on Monday, with a vibrant celebration on campus. The event was organised with a view to aid and enhance the students’ understanding of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita – a book which is revered as the divine and eternal guide to righteous living.

The programme opened with an introduction to the significance of Gita Jayanti, the sacred day when Lord Shri Krishna imparted the spiritual wisdom of the Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Faculty member Dr RV Raval led an insightful session explaining selected shlokas, focusing on the Gita’s enduring message of performing one’s duties with sincerity, without attachment to outcomes. A key verse highlighted during the discourse was:
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्तेमाफलेषुकदाचन।
माकर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मातेसङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
Meaning
“You have the right to action only, never to fruits. Let not the fruits of action be thy motive, nor let thy attachment be to inaction.”

Students were enlightened that this verse talks about the timeless principle of action without expectation. The event also featured an enthusiastic verse recitation session, where students chanted verses from the Gita, creating an atmosphere infused with spiritual energy, reverence and cultural pride.

The celebration concluded on a cheerful note with the distribution of chocolates to all participating students.
