Pune: Gujarat put in a strong all-round performance to defeat Karnataka by 5 wickets in Semi Final 1 of the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy Elite, played today at the Veerangan Cricket Academy Ground, Pune, and booked their place in the tournament final.

Gujarat won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Karnataka were bowled out for 163 runs in 47 overs. Deeksha J was the top scorer for Karnataka, contributing 34 runs off 48 balls, including 4 boundaries. Gujarat’s bowlers kept tight control throughout the innings, with Achsaah S Parmar delivering an impressive spell, claiming 3 wickets for just 15 runs in 3 overs.
In reply, Gujarat chased down the target comfortably, scoring 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 30.5 overs. The chase was anchored by a brilliant knock from Sia A Patel, who played a match-winning innings of 87 runs off 78 balls, smashing 12 fours and 4 sixes. Her confident batting ensured Gujarat stayed ahead of the required run rate.
For Karnataka, Vandika K Rao was the standout bowler, picking up 3 wickets for 23 runs in 8 overs, but her efforts were not enough to stop Gujarat’s march to victory.
With this win, Gujarat qualified for the final, showcasing a dominant display in both bowling and batting departments and underlining their strong title credentials in the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy Elite tournament.
