Gujarat to Hold Collector Conference Every Wednesday: IAS Jayanti Ravi

Gandhinagar:In a move aimed at strengthening administrative coordination and improving governance delivery, the Gujarat government will now hold a Collector Conference every Wednesday, senior IAS officer Jayanti Ravi announced.

The weekly conference will bring together district collectors from across Gujarat to review development works, monitor implementation of government schemes, and address district-level challenges in a time-bound manner. The initiative is expected to enhance real-time decision-making, accountability, and inter-departmental coordination.

According to officials, the Wednesday Collector Conference will focus on priority sectors such as public service delivery, infrastructure projects, welfare schemes, grievance redressal, and law-and-order matters. District collectors will be required to present updates on key performance indicators and flag issues requiring policy-level intervention.

Jayanti Ravi emphasized that regular interaction with district leadership is essential to ensure that government policies translate effectively on the ground. The weekly schedule is designed to create a structured and consistent review mechanism, enabling faster resolution of issues and better tracking of outcomes.

The initiative aligns with the Gujarat government’s broader push for efficient administration, transparency, and performance-based governance. Officials believe that the fixed weekly format will also help standardize reporting systems and reduce delays in execution of development projects.

The Wednesday Collector Conference is expected to become a key platform for strategic planning and continuous administrative improvement across the state.
