Gujarat ATS Exposed Gang Involved in Tampering with Online Parcels Using Syringes; Accused Vishal Arrested

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has busted a gang involved in tampering with online delivery parcels by extracting valuable items using syringes, officials said on Sunday. One accused, identified as Vishal, has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to ATS officials, the gang used a syringe to discreetly puncture parcels and remove liquid or semi-liquid contents without visibly damaging the packaging. The method allowed the parcels to appear intact, making detection difficult during routine delivery checks.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused targeted specific online shipments, particularly high-value cosmetic, pharmaceutical and personal care products. After extracting the contents, the gang allegedly resealed the parcels and allowed them to continue through the delivery chain.

The ATS launched an investigation following multiple complaints from e-commerce companies and customers reporting missing or compromised products despite sealed packaging. Technical surveillance and field intelligence helped identify the suspects and trace their operations.

Officials said the arrested accused Vishal played a key role in executing the parcel tampering process. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the gang, determine the scale of the operation, and assess possible links to similar cases in other parts of the state.

The Gujarat ATS has seized syringes and other materials allegedly used in the crime and is continuing its probe to uncover the full network involved.
