Ahmedabad, April 19, 2026: Navgujarat Group of Colleges organised a warm and memorable alumni meet at their Ashram Road Campus on Sunday, April 19. The event brought together former teachers and students in a celebration of the shared legacy at the institute. This is a historical milestone in the history of this legacy educational institution, as past students spanning over 25 years met their faculty on the same premises for the first time.
The day began with an interaction among faculty members who had served the institution once. Many of them revisited the campus and went down the memory lane, reconnecting with familiar corners that once shaped their journey.
Once alumni members arrived, the alumni meet (batch 1964- 1996) formally opened with a prayer ceremony. Shri Nitinbhai Shah, Principal of Prin. M C Shah Commerce College, welcomed the students with his introductory remarks.
Shri Mukeshbhai Shah, Trustee also shared his views and the journey of Navgujarat Group of Colleges over the years.
Shri Snehal Shah, Managing Trustee of Navgujarat Group of Colleges, shared insights on the new infrastructure, modern facilities of the campus, and the future vision.
Distinguished speakers- former Professors, namely Shri Kumarpal Desai, renowned author and critic, and Shri Trilokbhai Parikh, owner of Karnavati Club & Gulmohor Greens, spoke on the institution’s values, journey and the role of education in shaping lives.
A number of alumni members of the institution who are at key positions in various companies and governments and institutions remained present at the event and shared their journey and experience.
Speakers included Shri Narharibhai Amin, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); Shri Nikhilbhai Shah, Vice President, Waghbakri Group; Shri Hitendrabhai Rathod, TDS Income Tax Commissioner; Shri Harishbhai Shah, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax; Shri Amritbhai Patel, Retired Joint Secretary, Secretariat; along with Shri Vinaybhai Dave, famous writer, actor, director, anchor and journalist and Shri Ashwinbhai Patel chairman of Naroda Coop Bank and MD of Nirman Textile Mills, and Shri Hareshbhai Pandit – Sr. Zonal VP Axis Life Insurance , and Shri Shaileshbhai Shah, advocate and notary, Shri Rajkumar Gupta – former MLA & Minister, Dr. Jagdishbhai Bhavsar renowned Economics Professor, Ex. Vice Chancellor among others.
The institution has been pivotal in shaping careers, with much of who I am today stemming from the values and guidance of Mr. M C Shah, whose leadership created opportunities for countless students. Numerous leaders and public representatives have emerged from the institution, reflecting its enduring legacy. Beyond academics, he instilled values of humility, service, and social responsibility. I also appreciate Mr. Snehal Shah and Mr. Mukesh Shah for bringing us together to revisit these cherished memories, and as alumni, we would be proud to contribute to the institution’s continued growth,” stated Shri Narharibhai Amin, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Shri Nitinbhai Shah, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their presence and continued association with Navgujarat Group of Colleges.
