Surat, Gujarat — Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national address at Utran in Surat city, according to an official statement issued by the party’s state media department. Prior to this, Vishwakarma addressed a “Vikas Sankalp Sabha,” outlining the party’s development-focused agenda and electoral momentum in the state.

In his address, Vishwakarma emphasized that the foundation of Gujarat’s development politics was laid during Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister and is now being carried forward by current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. He praised Modi’s governance style, noting that projects initiated under his leadership are consistently seen through to completion.
Highlighting the party’s grassroots strength, Vishwakarma stated that BJP workers remain active year-round, working across nearly 50,000 booths to resolve public issues and ensure that government welfare schemes reach beneficiaries directly. He contrasted this with opposition parties, alleging that they are visible only during election periods.
Pointing to the party’s electoral performance, Vishwakarma revealed that BJP candidates have already been elected unopposed on more than 700 seats, calling it a clear indication of an impending landslide victory. He added that over 10,000 party workers are actively contesting elections across Gujarat, contributing to what he described as a “saffron wave” across the state.
Addressing voters, he said that every vote cast is crucial for maintaining peace, security, and stability in Gujarat. He also credited the BJP-led government at the Centre for enhancing India’s global stature and bringing pride to 1.4 billion citizens.
On the issue of the Women’s Reservation Bill, Vishwakarma criticized the opposition for opposing the legislation, stating that it reflects disrespect toward women across Gujarat and the country. He asserted that women voters would not forgive such actions and would respond decisively in upcoming elections.
Vishwakarma further noted that the BJP has enjoyed unwavering public trust in Gujarat for the past three decades, attributing it to sustained development work and transparent governance.
The event was attended by several party leaders, including State General Secretary Dr. Prashant Korat, Surat City BJP President Paresh Patel, Member of Parliament Mukesh Dalal, along with MLAs, office bearers, senior leaders, and party workers.
