In a major administrative move, the state government has started reviewing employees above 55 years of age. Officials whose performance is found unsatisfactory, negligent or linked to disciplinary issues may face compulsory retirement before their official retirement age.
Departments have been asked to submit detailed records of employees turning 55 between October and December 2026. The review will reportedly include:
▪️ Service records
▪️ Confidential reports
▪️ Departmental inquiries
▪️ Criminal or court cases
▪️ Physical & mental fitness for duty
Sources say the government’s focus is to improve efficiency and accountability in the administration.
