Gujarat has appointed senior IPS officer G.S. Malik, currently serving as the Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad, as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state.
A 1993-batch IPS officer, Malik brings decades of experience in policing and administration. His elevation to the top post comes as part of a key leadership change in the Gujarat Police setup.
With his appointment, a senior officer from Ahmedabad city police has now been entrusted with leading the entire state police force, marking a significant administrative transition in Gujarat’s law enforcement leadership.
