Vadodara Tragedy: 6 Killed, More Than 24 Injured After Luxury Bus Collides with Truck Near Kotambi Stadium

Vadodara: A tragic road accident near Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara claimed six lives and left over 24 passengers injured when a luxury bus travelling from Rajasthan to Surat collided with a truck in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to officials, the bus was carrying several passengers towards Surat when the collision occurred on a highway stretch near Kotambi Stadium. The impact of the crash was severe, causing extensive damage to the front portion of the bus and trapping several passengers inside.

Soon after the accident, teams from the police, fire department, SDRF, and other emergency response agencies reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. Rescue personnel worked for several hours to safely evacuate injured passengers and recover those trapped inside the vehicle.

The injured were rushed to Sayaji Hospital (SSG Hospital) in Vadodara and nearby healthcare facilities for immediate treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that some victims suffered serious injuries and are under medical observation.

Senior district officials monitored the rescue efforts, while police personnel managed traffic and secured the accident site. Authorities are also coordinating with families of the victims and arranging necessary assistance.

Preliminary information suggests that the bus was travelling from Rajasthan towards Surat when it met with the accident. Investigators are examining all possible factors, including road conditions, vehicle movement, and driver-related circumstances, to determine the exact cause of the collision.

The incident caused temporary traffic disruption in the area as cranes and rescue vehicles were deployed to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.

The unfortunate accident has once again highlighted the importance of road safety measures and vigilance on highways, particularly during long-distance overnight journeys
