More Than 1.25 Crore Citizens Across the State to Participate in Yog Protocol Training on Yog Day ‘Yog Sapth’ to Be Celebrated Across the State from June 14 to June 20 Mass Yoga Sessions to Be Held Simultaneously Across 17 Municipal Corporations, All Talukas of 33 Districts, Municipalities, and Rural Areas Special Programmes to Be Organised on This Year’s Theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’
Gandhinagar, 18 June 2026: Providing details about the 12th International Yog Day celebrations, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi said that the country is marking 12 years of good governance under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through various public service activities. As part of this, Gujarat will celebrate the 12th International Yog Day with great enthusiasm.

The state-level event will be held in Mansa Taluka of Gandhinagar district under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, with participation from more than 4,000 citizens. The Deputy Chief Minister stated that special programmes will be organised this year based on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” In this regard, more than 10 major events have already been successfully organised across the state. By Yoga Day, a total of around 24,000 programmes will be conducted across schools, colleges, corporate offices, industries, gardens, and public spaces throughout Gujarat.

He further informed that more than 1.25 crore citizens from across the state are expected to participate in yoga protocol training on Yog Day this year. Various committees are actively working in coordination with District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, and social organisations in all districts to ensure the successful organisation of these events. He added that ‘Yog Sapth’ (Yoga Week) is being celebrated across the state from June 14 to June 20. Around 12 special programmes covering various sections of society, including sanitation workers, women, senior citizens, and farmers, are being organised. Out of these, 10 programmes have already been completed, while the remaining two will be held over the next two days.

In addition, mass yoga sessions will be organised simultaneously across 17 Municipal Corporations, all talukas of 33 districts, municipalities, and rural areas. In this connection, more than 5,000 participants enthusiastically joined a mass yoga session held early this morning at GIFT City in Gandhinagar. Recalling Prime Minister’s foreign visits, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the Prime Minister was welcomed by foreign citizens through yoga during his overseas visits, demonstrating that India’s culture and yoga have reached every corner of the world. He further noted that the demand for Indian yoga instructors has increased significantly worldwide, with highly attractive salary opportunities being offered. The Gujarat Yoga Board is providing training and facilities to enable citizens to practice yoga every morning. The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the Chairman of the Gujarat Yoga Board and the entire team for their commendable work.
