C. C. Sheth College of Commerce Celebrates International Yoga Day

Ahmedabad, 22 June 2026: C. C. Sheth College of Commerce celebrated International Yoga Day on 20th June 2026 with active participation from students, faculty members, and alumni. The programme was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and highlighting the importance of yoga in daily life.

The celebration commenced in the morning with a prayer, followed by an introduction highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the role of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Participants enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas under guidance. The session included stretching exercises, breathing techniques (Pranayama), meditation practices, and several yoga postures aimed at improving flexibility, concentration, and overall wellness.

On the occasion, Principal Dr. D. S. Mistry conveyed a special message to the participants and emphasised that yoga is India’s invaluable gift to the world, serving as a powerful tool for achieving harmony between mind, body, and spirit.

Sports Director Dr. J. P. Thakor encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine to lead a balanced, healthy, and stress-free life. He further highlighted that regular yoga practice enhances concentration, emotional stability, and overall personality development, which are essential for academic and professional success.

The programme helped increase awareness among students about the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being and encouraged them to adopt healthy lifestyle practices through regular yoga practice.
